Poem from a visiting poet....

Unspoken Love

The soft moonlight kisses my bed,
The wind plays on the chime,
Incense drifts in through the willows;
The fire burns wearily as if driven by sleep,
Everything seems so calm except for my heart,
that plays hide and seek with your thoughts.
Your flowers are not for me,
Neither are your admiring glances;
But my heart like a spoilt child wails,
Some flowers fall from your bouquet,
I stealthily pick them, place them in my books;
To open them later, feel each petal,
To drift into thoughts, fired by passion.
I have to laugh out with the world,
Fearing that my tears & scars would show;
I know it can only be lilies for me,
But how can I give up the thought of roses?
For I find it too feeble a reason to stop loving you;
Just because you don't love me.
