Mallika -e- Sherawat

Yeah as the tilte goes this entry is on Mallika Sherawat. What actually inspired me is the wide spectrum of emotions the name "Mallika Sherawat" draws. From downright disgust to jaw dropping awe.. but one thing is sure everyone has an opinion on her.

Mallika first appeared as a demure damsel(by her own standards) in Mujhe Kuch Kehna hai; little did she give the indication of how she would sizzle on the screen later. What makes her a true diva is the fact that she is as hot and controversial off the screen as on it. Be it her interviews(which I particularly recommend) or press conferences about movies she hardly is in. And between all this she's been to Cannes even.

But behind all this glitz u will notice a women who has reached to where she has from a humble back ground. In a way she represents what India is doing right now. India is growing and growing leaving behind much of its traditional so called aesthetics. Whether it is the right method is quite debatable. I feel she represents the 21st century Indian, who dares to dream big and stops at no hold to get there.

Love her or loathe her.. Mallika symbolizes 21st century Consumerism where the market strives to give what the people want. She manages to make movies work on her own, which some of our big stars cant. She just gives people what they ask for and hence her success.
